Kenn Morris has over twelve years of experience in US-Mexico business and political analysis, with a specialization in crossborder market research, the maquiladora industry, logistics and cargo, border infrastructure, and border-related policy issues.
As Director of Crossborder Business Associates – a San Diego-based consulting firm – he is considered by many to be an expert in NAFTA and crossborder strategic thinking, free trade and Latin American/Hispanic market issues, and US-Mexico industry and politics – and he has been quoted in print and television media, including Business México magazine, The Bureau of National Affairs/International Trade Reporter, Milenio magazine (México), The San Diego Union-Tribune, and others. Clientele have included Fortune 100 firms, manufacturers, consumer product companies, major universities, and State and Federal government agencies.
A native of California, Mr. Morris has lived on both sides of the US-Mexico border, reflected in his passion for the region, his insight into the competitive advantages of crossborder activities, and his understanding of the opportunities in Mexico and Latin America. This perspective underpins not only his work at Crossborder Business Associates, but also his previous work as the former coordinator for University of California at San Diego Extension’s Executive Program in US-Mexico Trade. He is active in the San Diego World Trade Center and the California Council for International Trade (CCIT), currently the appointed Chair for the San Diego World Trade Center’s Advocacy Committee.
Prior to his work at Crossborder Business Associates, Mr. Morris worked for the City of San Diego as a liaison to regional businesses, economic development agencies, and permitting/regulatory authorities. This included work on binational projects, business promotion programs, permit assistance activities, and developing a regional network in the San Diego community to assist environmental businesses.
Mr. Morris has an MBA in International Business from San Diego State University, and studied under a scholarship as an International Fellow in the AGSIM (Thunderbird) -- Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara program in Guadalajara, Jalisco. He also holds a BA in Economics from San Diego State University.
